Business Development Services:
The Unit aims at facilitating
provision of non-financial services to Micro entrepreneurs by
conducted numerous surveys and implementing experimental projects for
development of such
enterprises. It is worth mentioning that
activities of the Small and Micro-Enterprises Unit is not limited only to
securing provision of financial services to Micro entrepreneurs but exceeded it
to creation of an adequate environment for provision of non-financial services
for Micro entrepreneurs, which include clients of microfinance programs and
institutions and non-beneficiaries, in order to upgrade efficiency and capacity
of the group, by providing relevant training and qualification programs in
various fields; such as tailoring, maintenance of mobile phones, embroidery,
house management, food processing, handicrafts, production of perfumes and
incense; etc.
In implementation to Small & Micro Enterprises Strategy and due to lack of non-financial services;
such as consultancy services pertaining to production and marketing technology,
in addition to the absence of training and non-availability thereof to the
targeted clients by the Small and Microfinance Programs and Institutions, the Small and Micro
Enterprises Promotion Agency
was established that aims at development of the capacities of the small
and micro-enterprises in order to expand their productions and improve the
relevant quality and at the same time develop demand channels for the products
by extending training, conducting exploratory visits and sector studies. It is worth mentioning that a grant agreement
was concluded in Sana'a between the Social Fund for Development and the Royal
Embassy of the Netherlands
to finance an administrative training program for small investors that is to be
implemented through the Agency.
