   Objective

Since establishment, the SFD's contributions to the country's medium- and long-term development have substantially increased and developed. They, nowadays, seek to achieve the below objectives:

  • Building capacity of human resources - expanding basic education, closing the gender gap between the basic and secondary education, and improving access to health care

  • Empowering the poor, especially those suffering from economic and social difficulties in order to improve their living conditions through a variety of channels including micro finance and improved rural productive infrastructure.

  • Supporting and catalyzing institutional development - through a better fiduciary control, monitoring and evaluation, management information systems and institutional building to support decentralization – for other public sector bodies, including line ministries and NGOs.

  • Ensuring environment sustainability including the local investments in water sustainability.

  • Empowering women to participate in development process and facilitating their access to social and economic services.

  • Supporting civil society organizations to deliver services to the poor and to advocate and monitor civil rights.

  • Supporting decentralization by means of enabling local communities at the grassroots-level to define and prioritize their development needs, maximize community mobilization and utilization of the available local and national resources and to participate in implementing, operating, maintaining and evaluating the projects in their areas.
