Workshop on Cash-for-Work Program in Al-Mukalla

The SFD Branch Office (BO) of Mukalla organized a workshop on Cash-for-Work Program in Al-Mukalla City early November 2011for the general directors and secretaries general of the local councils in the coastal districts of Hadhramaut. The workshop discussed the role of the program in light of current conditions to mitigate the suffering of the poor.

Donors' Joint Progress Review assessed SFD operations

The Donors' Joint Progress Review team (JPR) held a series of meetings with the SFD management in Amman, Jordan on 17–19 December 2011. The meeting discussed the SFD's strategic and operational issues, assessed progress in achieving SFD IV objectives, explored opportunities and challenges, reviewed the SFD IV results framework and risks and mitigation measures during the current instability in the country. The meetings presented a brief overview of scenarios of implementation of SFD VI in the availability of funding. Discussions also covered SFD performance during the political instability in 2011 in various sectors and ways it used to have addressed challenges facing the implementation of projects.

SMEPS provides training to 50 tomato farms in Lahej

Under the title "Developing the Use of Improved Agricultural Inputs to Tomato Farmers in Lahej Governorate", Small and Micro Enterprises Promotion Services (SMEPS) Agency, a subsidiary of the Social Fund for Development, held during the period 16–21 November 2011 a training course for 50 tomatoes farmers in Lahej, which comes as part of Tomouhi (My Ambition) Program's projects.
